Mariah Phillips has been teaching at Daniel McKee Alternative School for five years. She earned her Bachelors from MTSU and recently completed her Master's Degree from Lipscomb University. She enjoys teaching at Daniel McKee because the small class sizes give her the opportunity to reach kids on an individual level, especially in her Personal Finance Class. Her favorite experiences as a teacher are watching the students build relationships with the Veterans through the annual Visit with the Vets Service Learning Project, competing in the national Capitol Hill Challenge, and watching former students find success at their home school and beyond through the mentorship program. Outside of school, Mrs. Phillips is actively involved in the lives of her 5 children, running them to play and dance practice, soccer games, and whatever else they have going on! When she has time to relax, she enjoys going to Starbucks, the movies, watching her husband play music, or just playing games at home with her family.
